Workplaces can be a bench or room which is part of an department and will later house instruments. Wokplaces make sense to make it easy even for new personel to quickly find instruments in large infrastructures. The workplace can be associated to a department by clicking the combo box as shown in the video below. Deactivation of workplaces is not allowed as long they have associated instruments.
